Guidelines for the designation of self-certification testing facilities for automotive parts by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (new/change)

We provide the following guidance for the procedures to register (new/change) the designation of automobile parts self-certification test facilities by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.


<Purpose of Designating Test Facilities>

- Those who wish to register as parts manufacturers must secure a test facility; however, if a contract is signed with a test facility specified in the notice, it is recognized as having secured a test facility.


<Required Documents for Designation of Test Facilities>

1) Official letter for the application for test facility designation (Form 1)

2) Application form for test facility designation (Form 2)

3) Required documents for test facility designation application (Form 3) / The English version is used when applying for foreign test facilities

4) Application for change of test facility (Form 4) / Use instead of (Form 1) when applying for a change


* Note: If a person wishing to register as a parts manufacturer intends to designate a foreign test facility with which they have a contract, the application must be submitted directly by the foreign test facility.


<Application Approval Process>

1. After completing all the required documents above, you may send them by registered mail to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. (The address is provided in the announcement manual.)

2. Upon receipt of the documents, the Ministry will instruct the Korea Automotive Safety Research Institute to verify the test facility, and if the results are satisfactory, the designation application will be approved.
