Leading the Parts Market with Trust and Transparency
The Korea Automobile Parts Association (KAPA) was established to address the issue of rising consumer burdens caused by the monopolized distribution structure of repair parts. Despite the growing reliance on high-cost OEM parts, there was no viable solution, necessitating the creation of an organization to tackle this challenge.
With the rapid growth of domestic automotive brands, the demand for Korean car parts is increasing both locally and internationally. While many parts manufacturers possess the technical expertise to meet this demand, the market remains confined to the OEM-centered structure, limiting growth and innovation opportunities.
Through its certification system, KAPA aims to identify and nurture manufacturers with outstanding technology and supply capacity. By doing so, the association seeks to protect consumer rights and contribute to the healthy development of the domestic automotive parts industry. The KAPA SEAL program provides a rationally designed certification framework for quality-certified parts. Coupled with a nationwide automotive A/S network and repair technology, it delivers high-quality services capable of competing with global automotive brands, ultimately addressing consumer dissatisfaction.
In addition, by improving the parts distribution structure and promoting domestic production of previously imported parts, KAPA aims to significantly lower part prices. The association also strives to ensure that superior products certified by KAPA are reliably distributed to consumers.
Furthermore, KAPA plans to establish a large-scale automotive parts industrial complex centered on SMEs, with an annual production capacity of KRW 1.3 trillion and direct employment for 10,000 people. This initiative aims to support small and medium-sized parts manufacturers with excellent technology that have been limited by subcontracting structures dominated by large corporations. By helping these companies develop independent brands, the association will create optimal conditions for producing and distributing competitive automotive parts in terms of quality and price, enabling member companies to expand globally.
